Cardiff City can go top of the Genero Adran U19s Premier Conference if they avoid defeat to Carmarthen Town on Friday night.
The Bluebirds won a third game in a row with a 7-0 win against Connah’s Quay Nomads last Sunday, which saw Eliza Keane score four times at The Poppies 3G.
Olivia Dawkins scored a brace, whilst Paige Parsons was also on the scoresheet, as City go within a point of the top.
They face a Carmarthen side who have picked up momentum in recent weeks, with an incredible 4-2 win against league leaders Barry Town United last week.
Evie Jones and Ophelia Jenkins both scored braces at the LHP Stadium as The Old Gold claim back-to-back wins, their first wins of Phase Two. Goals for Libby Emanuel and Millie Breen wouldn’t be enough for Barry.
Barry are without a game this week, as are 2nd placed Pontypridd United, whose fixture with Wrexham has been postponed.
Gwenllian Crane’s equaliser was enough to earn a point for Ponty last week against Briton Ferry Llansawel, after a Lowri Marshman own goal opened the scoring for Roger Webb’s side.
Ferry’s fixture with Connah’s Quay Nomads has also been postponed this week. The New Saints will also be without a game again, after their fixture last week with Wrexham was postponed.
After winning the Genero Adran South in senior competition on Wednesday, Cardiff Met will be looking to take another step in the Genero Adran U19s Championship Conference, as the current leaders host Taffs Well, who didn’t play last week.
Met put 14 past Penybont last week, which included seven goals for Gracie-Mae Howard. Scarlett Davies, Molly Jones, Hannah Rayner, Rhian Edwards and Milly Parker were also on the scoresheet. Ella Freeman scored the goal for Penybont in that one.
Penybont will be looking to respond when they host Aberystwyth Town on Friday night, who are also coming into Matchday Ten on the back of defeat.
Trinity Reakes scored a 90th minute winner for Cascade YC against The Seasiders for an important three points for Cascade. Two days later, Reakes scored the winner for Cascade in their Genero Adran South win against Pure Swansea.
Cascade travel to Swansea City, who will be aiming to keep the pressure on leaders Cardiff Met.
The Swans faced Llanelli Town AFC last week, who caused problems for Swansea having gone ahead on two occasions in the game.
Sky Bradford-Evans gave Llanelli the lead 15 minutes in, before Megan Williams equalised for Richard Harris’ side.
Searching for their first point of Phase Two, Llanelli went back ahead through Chantelle Folmiler, which saw The Reds go into the interval 2-1 ahead.
However, it’s been over three months since Lowri Jones didn’t score in the Genero Adran U19s League, and that wasn’t changing.
A hattrick from The Swans forward secured a vital three points in the race for the Championship Conference title.
