Barry Town United have added to their defensive ranks, with Cardiff City defender Holly Jones joining until the end of the season.

Jones has signed on a deal until the end of the season with an agreement that will see her return to the Bluebirds ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The central defender has been a key part of The Bluebirds’ U19s backline in recent times, with the athletic and committed Jones at the heart of City’s defensive efforts in Phase One of the U19s league.

Jones has also captained the U19s, whilst also receiving first team callups after her impressive performances. The 17-year-old has three senior appearances in all competitions this season for Iain Darbyshire’s side.

Originally joining Cardiff City from Tredegar Town AFC, Jones will now spend the rest of the campaign at Jenner Park.

Her first game in a Barry shirt could be at the Swansea.com Stadium on Sunday 25th January, as The Linnets travel to Swansea City.
