Genero Adran U19s Premier Conference leaders Barry Town United face current holders Cardiff City on Friday evening, as they look to continue their unbeaten start to Phase Two.
However, The Linnets have dropped points from winning positions in their last two draws, so will be aiming to return to winning ways against Cardiff.
A last minute equaliser from Scarlett Baker-Perry meant the two sides couldn’t be separated in their last meeting in October. Olivia Dawkins gave Barry the lead in the 1-1 draw, with Dawkins now with The Bluebirds after joining the club in January.
After their game was postponed last week against Connah’s Quay Nomads, Barry will face a Cardiff side who were defeated 5-2 by Wrexham AFC last week.
A hattrick from Indie Griffiths and two goals from Grace Morris saw Wrexham respond in the perfect way after their defeat to The New Saints. Aoibheann Ryan-Jones and Anuka O’Hare both scored for Cardiff City, but it wouldn’t be enough to claim anything from the matchup at The Rock.
The Red Dragons travel to the LHP Stadium on Saturday afternoon. After the senior sides went head-to-head in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup, the U19s matchup in the Genero Adran U19s Premier Conference.
Another occasion where it’s a first meeting between the two sides, one which will see Liv Fuller return to action in a Wrexham shirt after a long-term injury, as per the Racecourse Ramble Podcast.
They face a Carmarthen side who will be looking to respond to a heavy 4-1 defeat last week against Briton Ferry Llansawel. Ffion Miles fired home in the final few moments of the game, but it wouldn’t be enough for The Old Gold.
An early brace from Harley Hodge put Ferry ahead in the game, before Sophia Grove and Begw Gruffydd wrapped up the scoring.
The Reds could actually go top this weekend if results go their way. They travel to Park Hall to face a strong The New Saints side, which will again be a first meeting between the two sides. TNS didn’t play last week, but remain unbeaten in 2nd in Phase Two after an incredible start to the second half of the season.
Pontypridd United return to action after a three week break, as they travel to The Poppies 3G to face Connah’s Quay Nomads, who also didn’t play last week.
The Nomads are in search of their first points of Phase Two, whilst Ponty will be aiming to build on their comeback win against Briton Ferry in their last outing, as the two sides face eachother for the first time.
In the Championship Conference, Cardiff Met return to action against Taffs Well after a week out, and will have to be aware of a confident Taffs Well side, who beat Penybont 5-2 last week.
Rianne Jones scored a hattrick and Ruby Spear scored a brace in The Wellwomen’s first win of Phase Two. Penybont responded through Amy Chamberlain and a first U19s goal for Ava Freeman, who made her senior debut in the Genero Adran South against Llanelli Town last weekend.
Bont will be looking to bounce back from that defeat away to Aberystwyth Town on Friday night, who they beat 3-1 in October.
However, this is an Aber side who have started Phase Two strongly, and were seconds away from claiming a point against a strong Swansea City last week, where Ellie Gibbins scored a hattrick for the Swans including that last minute effort, in a 3-2 win.
Amy Jenkins and Lily Moralee-Hughes levelled the game for Aberystwyth after Gibbins gave Swansea a 2-0 lead at Park Avenue, but it would be Swansea to claim all three points, to ensure they bounced back from their defeat the week before against Championship leaders Met.
Swansea travel to the CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence to face Cascade YC on Friday night, with Cascade coming into the game on the back of their first win of Phase Two.
Second-half goals from Trinity Reakes and Ffion Bowden secured a 2-0 win against Llanelli Town AFC, meaning Llanelli are the remaining time without a point in Phase Two.
