Genero Adran Premier side Pontypridd United Women have reappointed Drew Lewis as First Team Manager for the rest of the season.
After stepping away from the first team picture in October, Lewis recently continued as Manager of Ponty’s U19s team, who are currently top of the Adran U19s South league, and explained that returning to the club originally with the U19s side “reminded me why this club matters to me.”
Lewis said: “After stepping away earlier in the season, it’s good to be back in the role and supporting the club again.
“I’m fully focused on leading the First Team for the remainder of the Adran Premier season. My priority is stability, standards, and doing right by the players and staff.”
It is expected that Lewis will continue in his role as Manager of the U19s side alongside returning to First Team duties. Interim manager Kellan Webb will remain at Pontypridd United as First Team Head Coach.
Pontypridd United explained in their statement: “This appointment ensures the club remains fully compliant with Tier One regulations and FAW requirements for the duration of the season.
“The club remains focused on its objectives for the remainder of the Adran Premier campaign and will review its long-term management structure at the conclusion of the season.”
The Dragons still remain without a point in the Adran Premier after 11 games and sit ten points off Barry Town United at the bottom of the topflight.
Lewis’ first game back in charge will be against The Linnets at Jenner Park in the Genero Adran Premier, 2pm kickoff on Sunday 4th January.
