Cymru U19s forward Casi Gregson has joined WSL 2 side Newcastle United, after departing Gwalia United at the end of December.
Gregson made 37 appearances for Gwalia, scoring 8 times, and after two seasons at the South Wales side, the Ceredigion-born Gregson moves to the North-East of England to start a new chapter with the Magpies.
She will join up with former Gwalia coach James Thomas, who was appointed Newcastle United Women’s Academy Manager in November, with Gregson likely to be initially be involved with Newcastle’s PGA side.
The striker started in her youth with local side Lampeter Town AFC, before progressing through the FAW Girls Academy South. In 2022 she was called up to Cymru U17s, before an U19s call up followed in 2025. Gregson has made 4 appearances for Nia Davies’ U19s side so far.
Posting on X, Gregson said on joining Newcastle: “Truly grateful for this opportunity, excited for this new chapter.”
The former Cymru international played alongside Gregson whilst the 18-year-old was at the club before departing two months ago.
Williams-Mills said on Gregson: “I’ve got a lot of time for Casi, got on really well with her. She wants to learn, she wants to get better.
“I would have loved to have kept her at the club, but being a youngster it’s really important that you want to get better and you want to learn, she’s got a lot of attributes that she’ll do well in football if she keeps her head down.”
