Genero Adran U19s Phase Two Latest | 23rd January

Pontypridd United U19s will be looking to build on a statement win last week when they host Barry Town United at USW Sports Park tonight.

A deflected last-minute effort from Robyn Lloyd gave Ponty all three points against Cardiff City in the opening matchday of Phase Two, which saw The Dragons continue their unbeaten campaign.

They face a Barry side who were the other side to win their opening Premier Conference game, in a convincing 3-0 win against Briton Ferry Llansawel.

Libby Emanuel gave The Linnets the lead, before Yasmin Wilcox fired in a fantastic first time effort from the edge of the area, to double the lead. Rhiannon Khan scored a third, as Barry wrapped up the win within the first half.

This matchup will see two sides meet with high hopes of going all the way in the Genero Adran U19s Premier Conference, going into Phase Two with momentum.

Pontypridd United won the only meeting between these two this season, in a 2-0 win for Drew Lewis’ side at Jenner Park. Ruby Stacey came off the bench to score twice, in a key three points for Ponty.

The other Premier Conference games set to be played this week will see the first time that a North versus South team has played eachother, as Briton Ferry Llansawel travel to The Rock to face Wrexham AFC on Saturday afternoon.

These two sides have never met in U19s competition, but come into this game with similar form – both sides have three wins from their last six matches.

Ferry have already played their opening game in Phase Two as mentioned previously, and will be looking to bounce back from defeat to Pontypridd United.

For Wrexham U19s, it will be their first game of the second half of the campaign. Their last game was back in December, in a 3-0 win over The New Saints.

Sienna Perry opened the scoring before adding a second just after the hour mark.

Genero U19s North division top scorer Grace Morris added a third, assisted by Perry, to ensure all three points went to the side who topped the North league.

The New Saints start their U19s Phase Two campaign on Sunday afternoon, with Cardiff City making the trip to Park Hall.

The Bluebirds will be looking to bounce back from defeat to Pontypridd United last week when they travel North.

TNS U19s are looking for their first win of the season, having picked up just two points in Phase One of the Genero Adran U19s North.

With this being the first two matchups between the two leagues, it’s set to be an intriguing battle as both sides look to pick up their first points in the Premier Conference.

Swansea City U19s will be looking to build on their action-packed 4-3 win last week against Taffs Well, in what was an incredible matchday one of Championship Conference football.

Lowri Jones gave the Swans an early lead, before Emily Davies equalised for Taffs Well. It was Jones again to put Richard Harris’ side ahead, with Susanna Cunningham extending the advantage to three just before the break.

The travelling Wellwomen continued to make life difficult for Swansea. Rianne Jones brought the deficit back to one three minutes after the restart for the second-half.

Changes were made for the Swans, and one of those players introduced to the game would play a vital role. Ellie Gibbins set up Lowri Jones for her hattrick, 4-2 with 20 minutes to play. Taffs Well U19s captain Molly Ridge scored with seconds remaining, but it wouldn’t be enough for a Taffs Well side who pushed Swansea City all the way.

A trip to Bridgend awaits tonight for Swansea City, as they head to Pencoed College 3G to face Penybont. This will be Penybont’s first game of Phase Two.

Penybont come into this game on a disappointing run, but one that has seen progression of players from the U19s into the Genero Adran South first team, with forward Amy Chamberlain the latest to breakthrough more regularly.

It was Swansea who came out on top in this fixture last month in a 5-0 win. Lowri Jones scored twice and assisted twice, Susanna Cunningham scored twice, and Megan-Ruby Clarke assisted twice in that game. Katie-Louise Rowles also scored in the closing stages for the Swans.

Llanelli Town AFC will be looking to respond to defeat in their opening Phase Two fixture when they host Cardiff Met tonight.

A 5-1 defeat away to Aberystwyth Town at Park Avenue for Llanelli. Seren Evans, Ella Thomas and Amelie Talbot all scored in the first half for Aber.

Evie Croucher replied for Llanelli, but further goals for Aberystwyth from Amelie Talbot and Lily Moralee-Hughes saw Roy Tourle’s side make the perfect start to their Championship Conference campaign.

They don’t play this week, but Llanelli Town do, and it’s a chance to improve on their matchday one performance.

Cardiff Met are the visitors, who won their opening game 5-1 at home to Cascade YC, which included a 17-minute hattrick from Hannah Rayner. Gracie-Mae Howard also scored in that game to continue an impressive season for the former Swansea City player.

The Phase One fixture between these two saw Met come out victorious at Cyncoed.

Josie Bayley gave Cardiff Met an early lead, before second-half goals from Catrin Lemos and Millie Lewis completed a 3-0 win for the hosts that day.
