
Genero Adran Premier side Pontypridd United have completed the signing of 19-year-old central defender Paige Ward, joining from Penybont.
Ward made 35 appearances in all competitions for Genero Adran South Bont, having joined the Bridgend-based side from a successful Barry Town United U19s squad in 2024.
A quick, committed and upcoming defender, she particulary impressed in Penybont’s battling performances against Wrexham AFC in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup in December.
Formerly of Cardiff Wanderers and as mentioned Barry, Ward returns to a club in Pontypridd United who’s youth she also developed through, and made her Genero Adran Premier debut for in September 2022 against Aberystwyth Town.
Pontypridd United Manager Drew Lewis said on Paige Ward signing: “Paige is someone we identified early in the summer. We’re pleased she’s chosen to finally join us again at Ponty and we’re looking forward to working with her.”
The signing was completed before the winter transfer window deadline, after which clubs cannot register players for the top flight until the summer window.
Paige Ward could make her second Pontypridd United debut on Sunday 1st March against Aberystwyth Town at USW Sports Park.
