Wrexham are thriving at the top of the Genero Adran Premier, and remain in both cup competitions too. There have been errors in performances along with their dominant displays, and they’ve survived scares from teams outside the top four, but they have the quality to win games even if they’re not at their best, a big reason they’ve been so successful this season.<\/strong> One of those players who has created moments of quality this season, is Faye Knox. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scoring the winning penalty on Sunday, attacking midfielder Knox joined the group on deadline day. Despite joining a month into the season, she’s made the desired impact. A player who’s been at some big clubs during her youth days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginning her journey at Prestatyn Athletic in North Wales, Knox then went onto spend several years at Manchester City’s Academy before joining Liverpool, again spending many years at the club, further developing in the youth teams. A quick and skillful player on the ball, her abilities meant she was able to play out wide, but like she does at Wrexham today, she also played as an central attacking midfielder or even as a striker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her time at Liverpool would also see the first of many Wales U17 and U19 callups. She also scored whilst in the youth setup, against Scotland in February 2022 during an international friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In search of senior minutes, Knox joined Blackburn Rovers in 2023, who at the time were playing in the Women’s Championship (WSL 2). She originally spent the first part of the season at AFC Fylde in Tier Three, in a brief spell where she was in the same group as current Wrexham goalkeeper, Liz Craven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After impressing in the U21s at Blackburn, Knox made her senior debut against Sheffield United in January 2024 in the Conti Cup. She also went onto appear in the Championship for Rovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bolton Wanderers would be the next destination for Knox, where she would play regular first team football. A clinical goalscorer with 21 goals in 15 league games in 2024\/25, as Bolton won the North West Women’s Regional League Division One North.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
