PHOTO SPORTPIX | David Catry<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Genero Adran Premier side Barry Town United have completed the signing of central defender Izzy Caunt from FA Women&#8217;s National League side Gwalia United. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Wales U19 international made nine appearances for Gwalia in all competitions since joining in January 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Originally part of the FAW Girls Academy South setup, Caunt played twice for Barry&#8217;s Under-19s in December ahead of the move, as The Linnets qualified for the Premier Conference of the Genero Adran U19 Phase Two. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With injuries and players departing across the border, defensive signings were always going to be key for Barry in the January window, and with Izzy Caunt they have a committed defender who already has experience on the international stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Caunt will be available for selection in Barry&#8217;s next Genero Adran Premier fixture against Swansea City on Sunday 25th January, as James Fishlock&#8217;s side travel to the Swansea.com Stadium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She becomes Barry&#8217;s second signing of the January window, with <a href=\"https:\/\/cymrusport.cymru\/holly-jones-joins-barry-town-united-until-the-end-of-season\/\">Holly Jones joining The Linnets yesterday<\/a> from Cardiff City until the end of the season. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Genero Adran Premier side Barry Town United have completed the signing of central defender Izzy Caunt from FA Women&#8217;s National League side Gwalia United.
