Goalkeeper | Amie Preston-Roberts |

Cwmbran Celtic

Having arrived from Kidderminster Harriers in 2024, Amie Preston-Roberts has been ever-reliant in the Cwmbran Celtic goal, with four clean sheets to her name in the Genero Adran South this season.

An incredible shot-stopper, with arguably the best distribution in the Genero Adran Leagues, Preston-Roberts has once again been key for a strong season from Cwmbran Celtic.

Defender | Carys Gittins | Cardiff Met

A nominee for the FAW National Leagues Awards for Genero Adran South Young Player of the Season, it’s incredible to think Carys Gittins has spent most of her Cardiff Met career as a goalkeeper before this season.

This season, Gittins has been a regular in the left-back position, and has been a standout in the division. Incredible technical ability, providing a threat at both ends of the pitch, the 21-year-old has been crucial to Cardiff Met’s promotion.

Defender | Ella Meaney | Cwmbran Celtic

Versatile defensive player Ella Meaney has been a leader for Cwmbran across several seasons, and has once again been vital for the Bute Energy Cup Semi Finalists, having once again played both in defence and midfield this season.

A player who understands what it takes to play for Cwmbran Celtic, Meaney has led on the pitch for a Cwmbran side who finished 3rd.

Defender | Maddie Priday | Penybont

Another captain who has been pivotal to the backine, Maddie Priday has led an ever-improving Penybont side to a 4th placed finish under the leadership of Leon Williams.

Capable of season-defining moments, with a match winning penalty against Llanelli Town a particular highlight. Joining Bont in 2023, Priday has continued to develop into a top player at tier two level.

Midfielder | Olivia Barnes | Cardiff Met

Having joined the club midway through a disappointing relegation campaign, Cardiff Met captain Olivia Barnes has remained with the club, helping the side back to the top flight at the first attempt.

Leading from the middle, controlling the tempo of play for Met, Barnes has been central to the way Met want to play under Jon Nash.

Midfielder | Charley Haynes | Pure Swansea

A consistent performer across a number of seasons during the Swansea University era, those performance levels haven’t changed under the Pure Swansea name for midfielder Charley Haynes.

Joint-most exists in the Genero Adran South with eight to her name, Haynes is vital to both phases of play for Pure Swansea, having previously been a defender for Swansea Uni.

Haynes has showed again this season, even if Pure Swansea didn’t achieve the finish they wanted, that she’s one of the best player to grace the Genero Adran South.

Midfielder | Anna Houghton | Cardiff Met

Anna Houghton is up there as one of the best for technical ability in the Welsh domestic game, and no doubt a huge factor in Cardiff Met’s instant Genero Adran Premier return.

Nine goal contributions in the Genero Adran South this season, but you have to look past stats to understand the player that is Anna Houghton. Comfortable with both feet, an incredible eye for a pass, and capable of a long-range finish from time-to-time.

Midfielder | Ophelia Jenkins | Carmarthen Town

The development of Ophelia Jenkins is a true example of how well tier two can progress players.

Joining Carmarthen Town from the FAW Girls Academy South, the 17-year-old has been a shining light in a brilliant debut season for The Old Gold in the Genero Adran Leagues.

Ten goal contributions in the Genero Adran South, and in the running for the Genero Adran South Young Player of the Season at the FAW National Leagues Awards.

Forward | Esme Kilburn-Thompson | Cardiff Met

Everyone loves a comeback story, especially when it’s an ACL injury, a concerning pattern in women’s football in recent times.

Having been in-form before her injury, Esme Kilburn-Thompson has hit back in fashion, as if the injury never happened. Top scorer in the Genero Adran South with 13 goals, inspiring Cardiff Met back to the pinacle of Welsh football.

Forward | Ellis Lunn | Cascade YC

If you cast your mind back to the first half of the Genero Adran South season, Cascade were in trouble. Without a point in tier two until the new year.

However, since they picked up their first point, they’ve looked an unstoppable force. The goals of former Abergavenny striker Ellis Lunn have gone a long way in achieving that.

12 goals to her name, just one behind top scorer Kilburn-Thompson. Ellis Lunn is also in the running for Genero Adran South Player of the Season.

Forward | Cerys Jones | Penybont

Penybont striker Cerys Jones has been vital to Penybont equalising their position from last season in the Genero Adran South, with Leon Williams’ side finishing 4th in a highly competitive division.

Joining from Cardiff Met in the summer, Jones has scored 12 goals in the league campaign, also recording 3 assists.

Manager | Georgia Shwartz | Cwmbran Celtic

A first season in management at senior level in Wales for Georgia Shwartz, it’s been a season full of challenges and success for the 26-year-old Cwmbran Celtic Manager.

Reaching the Bute Energy Welsh Cup Semi-Finals was a success, but also brought about a tough fixture schedule. Despite that, Shwartz led Cwmbran to a 3rd placed finish, and for a period of the season were in the title race, whilst also winning the Hugh James SWFA Cup.

Whilst there will be disappointment in some outcomes in recent months, it’s a season to be proud of for the upcoming manager.
