Ruthin Town 0 Connah’s Quay Nomads 9.

New Manager John Disney claimed his first competitive win in his first match in charge of the Nomads as his team beat Ruthin Town convincingly 9-0 at Maes Tegid in Bala.

EDDIE SERVUTS scored his teams first goal on his debut for the club after six minutes after a low cross by Zeli Ismail. HARRY FRANKLIN made it two nil after half an hour with a volley from a Ismail cross .RHYS HUGHES would make it three nil with his trademark free kick after 37 minutes.

Three nil at half time it would take nine minutes after break when the Nomads made it four, Noah Edwards shot went towards the back post and was turned in by FRANKLIN who scored from close range.

After the fourth goal Nomads made five subs after 56 minutes, and it would be one of those subs that came on Chris Marriott whose long ball met ZELI ISMAIL head to make it five nil.

Ismail who signed in summer from Newtown, his night wasn’t finished when he set up another sub DELCAN POOLE for his teams sixth. ISMAIL scored his second goal from the spot with a Panenka style penalty seven nil. FRANKLIN shot took a wicked deflection off Izaack Lambert past the wrongfooted Ruthin Town goalkeeper Dan Goldston for 8 nil.

Connah’s Quay Nomads left their best goal til last when another sub and new signing from Newtown Jason Oswell laid the ball to SERVUTS to score his second of the game via the underside of the bar.

Caernarfon Town 3 Colwyn Bay 0.

The tie of the round was played at the Go Goodwins Llandudno due to work being carried out at The Oval Caernarfon. As last seasons Cymru North Champions Colwyn Bay played Caernarfon Town. The Cofis new signing in the summer Goalkeeper Connor Roberts made his debut for Caernarfon Town.

The big moment in the match was when Colwyn Bay’s Solomon Forde was given a straight red from the resulting foul ZACK CLARKE on loan from TNS scored from the spot after 39 minutes. In the 77th minute Caernarfon Town doubled their lead through ADAM DAVIES. Two minutes from time CONNOR EVANS came on for his debut ,within four minutes EVANS scored to gave his team a 3-0 win.

Flint Town United 1 Holywell Town 2.

The home team would take the lead in this derby fixture following a free kick in the 24th minute Cameron Ferguson passed into the path of DARREN STEPHENSON whose low shot put the home team ahead his first for the club. The Wellman got an equaliser in the eight minute of added first half time when new signing Jack Sconce put a through ball for JAMIE BREESE who beat his defender to fire home with the last kick of the half.

In the 67th minute the visitors took the lead when Breese became provider when he set up FABRIZIO MURTAS who cut inside and his curling shot put his team 2-1 ahead.

Guilsfield 2 Bala Town 2 (Bala Town win 3-1 Pens)

New Manager Steve Fisher, Head Coach Ryan Valentine and Bala Town faced a tricky cup tie at Guilsfield. Bala’s first match after Colin Caton stepped down after 22 years .The Lakesiders made a great start when they took the lead after two minutes a low cross by Liam Higgins into the box was tapped in by HUSSEIN MEHASSEB .Guilsfield were enjoying the better of the first half and got a deserved equaliser when in added on time in the first half JAMES SMALLWOOD shot took a deflection of a Bala defender into the back of the net.

With nine minutes to go Guilsfield Striker IWAN MATTHEWS struck to put the home side ahead his third in as many games. Could a shock be on the cards ? Two minutes the Cymru Premier team drew level when Mehasseb shot was saved by Guilsfield Goalkeeper Luke Evans only for sub JOHN OWEN to put the rebound in.

It would be heartbreak for the Cymru North side as Bala Town went through 3-1 on penalties.

Buckley Town 2 Newtown 3

Newtown also faced a difficult trip to The Globe, Buckley. The Robins new signing goalkeeper Mike Jones made his debut.

It would be another Jones that would put visitors when STEFF JONES scored with a header from a Aidan McCann cross. DEVON TORRY doubled their lead after 58 minutes with a strike inside the 18 yard area.

But there was a flurry of goals late in the game when Buckley pulled one back from a Oliver Blayney corner LUKE MARIETTE to pull one back, only for Newtown to surely make the game safe when Greg Draper held the ball up a cross from Findlay Starkey- Jones which found OLLIE SHARP to make it 3-1.

The goals hadn’t finished when Buckley Town scored again through HUGH HOLLAND but with another five minutes of added time the team from Mid Wales held on.

Rhyl 1879 2 Denbigh Town 2 (Denbigh Town win 11-10 Pens)

Cameron Darling made his debut for Denbigh Town after joining from Llandudno, another new signing Liam Higgins who came from Swansea City started on the bench.

A cagey first half left the first half goal less in the Denbighshire derby. In the 63rd minute Denbigh Town broke the deadlock when Tom Weir gave the ball to NATHAN BROWN to smash in the top corner.

A big blow for the home side Rocco Hewitt was sent off for his second yellow card, but Rhyl would fight back when MORGAN MURRAY scored from a direct free kick.

With three minutes to go Denbigh Town retook the lead when KEELAN WILLIAMS scored again a pass from Weir. Rhyl would fight back when a dramatic late strike three minutes into injury time when Paul Fleming headed on to LEO LATTER to score to take the tie to penalties.

It took 28 penalties to finally decide the cup tie in the visitors favour. Denbigh Town’s first shoot out win in 20 years and through to the third round since 2015 where in that year they got to the final.

Llandudno 7 Gresford Athletic 0

The home side started well after nine minutes they took the lead when a MARK CADWALLADER header went into the net to score his first goal of the season. Gresford fought back when Jake Roberts hit the post from a free kick. CADWALLADER second came at a great time just before half time.

After half time it was the STEPHENS family show when ADAM scored his team third TOM scrambled in the fourth and CALLUM made it five nil.

Mark Winslade went off with a serious injury and it got worse with Paul Johnson given a straight red card to follow his manager Eddie Maurice-Jones who was sent off just before half time.

Five minutes later CADWALLADER scored his hat trick. KIERAN SMITH got his first goal for his new club for seven nil after being denied earlier on.

The New Saints 7 Air Bus 1.

The New Saints were looking to bounce back from their European disappointment in Luxemburg. Craig Harrison made ten changes for today’s match. It’s the third match between the two clubs in twelve months. With Air Bus regular goalkeeper Keighan Jones serving a suspension it was left to 17 year old Harry Davies to make his debut, also the return to Park Hall for Blaine Hudson his first start for his new club against his old team.

The Cymru North team had the games first real chance when from a short corner Air Bus defender Nathan Williams had his effort headed off the line by TNS defender Ryan Astles. It took the Cymru Premier champions 34 minutes to break the deadlock when new signing for Nottingham Forest Jack Nadin laid the ball off for LOUIS PHILLIPS to find the net. Five minutes later a free kick from RORY HOLDEN doubled their lead.

After half time HOLDEN would score his second from a through ball from Dan Williams.

After being denied a minute earlier record signing BEN WILSON would score his first goal for The New Saints after beating the defender and scoring at the near post for four nil.

Superb skill then finish from ADRIAN CIESLEWICZ made it five nil.

Two quick goals from ARAMIDE OTEH made it seven nil. With seconds left Air Bus SAM BAKER to score a consolation goal for their first goal against The New Saints in six years.

Caersws 2 Brickfield Rangers 0

Newly crowned Ardal North East Champions Brickfield Rangers knew a win at the Recreation Ground would take them to the top of the Cymru North. Craig Williams team were looking for their first points of the season.

Caersws top scorer from last season RHYS HESDEN opened his account for this season with a brace before half and full time to give Craig Williams his first win as manager.

The club also announced that Lee Stephens has joined the club as assistant manager and joined Craig this afternoon in the dugout.
